Yesterday was my niece’s birthday, and today she’s having a party for her friends. Needing an excuse to try out yet another ‘Red Velvet Cake’, and loving my niece obviously, I made her a cake! I’ve been seeing these ‘Unicorn’ cakes all over Pinterest and YouTube, and wanted to have a go, so I did 😊 It also gave me a chance to practice my non existent buttercream piping skills. Let’s just say I still need a lot more practice, but I managed to cover the more messy bits with fondant hearts, flowers and confetti 😍 I also added a little holographic lustre dust to finish it off. I went for a purple theme as amethyst is February’s birthstone. All in all, I’m quite pleased with the result. What do you think?
