Well, it has in cake form at least π Today was my sister in law’s 60th birthday, and she asked for a ‘pretty’ cake. This meant I got to play with fondant, always a good pastime for me. I made simple two layer flowers just using an ordinary flower shaped cutter. Then I tried roses, both with a mould, and using FMM’s ‘easiest rose cutter ever’. The leaves were made with plunger cutters, as were the butterflies. I also got to finally use some printed wafer paper I bought a couple of months ago!
The cake itself is a simple vanilla Madeira filled and crumb coated with raspberry flavoured buttercream, and covered with white fondant. To finish off I dry brushed the flowers with a holographic white lustre dust, and added a few hearts and sprinkles. I think I may have gone a bit overboard with the decorations but it is pretty π
With some leftover cake batter I made cupcakes. Having the butterfly cutter out I made butterfly cupcakes…..With butterflies!
Hope you like them
As always
Stay safe and healthy
