Yay! The secret’s out! Made for my lovely daughter in law Abi who loves all things fairy, and all things Disney. A Fairy Toadstool house with a very special occupant. Of course we had to sprinkle fairy dust before she made an appearance 😋
The ‘barrel’ of the cake was made in a 6″ round x 4″ high pan which was levelled, divided in three, and filled with fudgy chocolate frosting. I got the recipe for this yummy frosting from ‘My Cupcake Addiction’ and it’s now a firm favourite. I adjusted the quantity of chocolate up a bit to see if it would work as a crumb coat, and it worked perfectly. The idea for the chocolate ‘bark’ came from ‘Rose Bakes’, and I used my ‘go to’ chocolate cake recipe as the foundation. The top part was made using a partially filled hemisphere cake pan, coated with the same frosting then covered in pink fondant, and fondant flowers. I tapped holographic white pearl dust off a dry brush over the whole thing for some fairy sparkle 😍
