Cakes, Bakes, and Me

Birthdays….and other celebrations

Hello again

The last couple of weeks in our house have been eventful to say the least. Mostly in a nice way…..some…..not so much ๐Ÿ˜

We’ve been celebrating birthdays and qualifications, which has been lovely, but I’ve not been my usual self, which has not! The good news is I now have a diagnosis for the chest pains and tummy discomfort. An endoscopy revealed a hiatus hernia and gastritis (inflammation of the stomach lining) which is now being treated. The even better news is that my daughter in law has excelled herself career wise, and had a grand ‘Sparkle Party’ to celebrate. The same weekend, we also celebrated my husband’s and son’s birthdays too, so it’s been quite a busy time altogether ๐Ÿ˜‹

I’ve mentioned before that my children always request a novelty cake for their birthdays (well ok, sometimes I choose if I have a lightbulb moment ๐Ÿ’ก) This year, my son requested that I recreate a white chocolate ย mouse ๐Ÿ like the ones he used to get in the pic and mix as a child. For my husband I made a mint chocolate chip cake, and for my daughter in law, a ‘sparkly’ graduation cap.

Many thanks to my Mum and daughter for putting the birthday buffet together, and to my family for the fun!

Unfortunately, the next family birthday cake I’m required to make isn’t till August ๐Ÿ˜” as although my nephew and sister both have significant birthdays before then, they don’t live locally, so in the meantime I’ll just have to do lots of ‘practicing’ ! ๐Ÿ˜œ

Until next time

Stay safe and healthy

P.S. Watch out for mint choc chip, and raspberry and white chocolate cake pops later this week! *Ahem* Gill ๐Ÿ˜
